Radon
Radon abatement is not an allowable activity under the Weatherization Program. However, those costs associated with taking precautionary measures in a dwelling known to have radon problems are allowable if an energy audit indicates that weatherization techniques would help in radon remediation.
Where there is a previously identified radon problem, work that would exacerbate this problem should be limited.
Major radon problems should be referred to the appropriate local environmental organization or agency for mitigation or abatement.
