How To Produce a Video
This guide is designed to take you through the step-by-step process of video production. It will help you plan the video, execute the plan, and create the final product. This guide provides examples to illustrate the process, a glossary of terms, and additional resources that provide production tips and samples.
Planning the Video
Planning the video, or the pre-production phase, is the development of the original idea and all the decisions about what is to be included in the program. It consists of the arrangements made before the start of the film. It can include scriptwriting, location scouting, and deciding the budget.
Shooting the Video
Shooting the video, or, the production phase is where all the pre-production plans are translated into action. It is the actual filming of the elements laid out in the script. This is where you set up the equipment, delegate crew jobs, and shoot the actual problem.
The Final Product
The final product, or, the post-production phase is where all the various bits and pieces are edited into a finished product. It is all the work done after the raw footage has been captured. This involves the editing, duplication, and logging process.
