Weatherization Day 2001 Activities

Governor Angus S. King Jr. visited a weatherization work site during Weatherization Day to recognize the outstanding work being performed by the local agency and the contractor. The event attracted media coverage from local newspapers, television and radio.

Weatherization Day 2000 Activities

Maine Governor Angus S. King Jr. and State Housing Authority Director Michael Finnegan toured a Kennebec County weatherization project to publicize the state's new energy conservation program and Weatherization Day. The visit took place at the home of an elderly woman in Augusta and was deemed very successful by both the state and local WAP staff.

During the visit, SHA Director Finnegan stated that, "Weatherization is one of the most important tools we have to make homes of low income Maine people more energy efficient, and reduce their need for heating assistance. It's also one of the most cost-effective programs, providing a long term savings in excess of $2 for every $1 invested in energy measures." A web site located at www.bundlemeup.org provides users with 10 easy tips for conserving energy.
