Publicize Your Twitter Feed
Like Facebook, one of the keys to using Twitter effectively is publicizing your Twitter handle to gain followers, further pushing out your message. This can be done internally through things like searching for keywords like “weatherization” or creating lists. It can also be done outside of Twitter by linking your own site to Twitter.
Add a Twitter Widget to your Email Signature
Many individuals, businesses, and nonprofits choose to promote their Facebook pages on their email signatures, which go out with every outgoing piece of email. By clicking on the icon, it takes the recipient directly to your Facebook page. This is a simple way to let others know you participate in social media and where they can find you.
Follow Me Button
The Follow Me button is Twitter’s version of Facebook’s “Like Box.” This button allows users to follow you on Twitter directly from your site or page without having to search for your Twitter handle.
Tweet This Button
The Tweet This button allows users to post your tweets onto their Twitter feed with the click of a button. This button is an easy way to publicize your own website content or an event while simultaneously publicizing your Twitter handle.
Twitter has a number of ways to display your feed on your website without visitors having to navigate to Twitter. If you do not have the space or time to update a blog continuously, a Twitter feed is a simple way to provide up to date information both to your Twitter followers and your site visitors. This streaming widget will display all of your tweets from Twitter to the page of your choice on your website.
Instead of streaming all of your tweets or just your favorites, this widget will stream results from a specific search. For example, if you have created a hashtag for an event, you can enter that hashtag as a search query, and the widget will only show results from people who have added your hashtag to their tweets. This will create a real-time stream on your website from Twitter of people at the event.
